Member of Parliament for Mwanza West constituency, Joyce Chitsulo and Senior Traditional Authorities Nthache and Govati have asked government to upgrade Thambani road to bitumen standard.
The trio made the call when the State Vice President,Dr Michael Usi visited the district to mobilize eligible voters to register in large numbers and vote for 'boma ndi lomweli' and their MP Joyce Chitsulo.
"The past governments have promised us to bitumise the road but it has been rhetorical all along. So we are tired of asking government on the same issue but this is our last ditch attempt to seek salvation from you the Veep before we go to hell. This area is agro based and contributes significantly to the economic growth of the country through farming and trade. But without good road, things are tough for farmers. So we beg your intervention," they said.
In his response, Usi said the cries of the Thambani people are legitimate and deserve answers by giving them the tarmac road to ease transport problems mainly during rainy season.
"I have taken note of your pleas. I will make sure that the line Minister of Transport, Jacob Hara does something for you people of Thambani.
