Deputy Minister of Local Government Unity and Culture Joyce Chitsulo says that there is toxic climate in government now and therefore there is a need to drain the swamp that is aimed at frustrating Chakwera's economic agenda.
She was speaking in Ntchisi district where she joined other government and political MCP high ranking members at a rally.
In her remarks, Chitsulo said Malawians are no longer interested in politics but development which is the hallmark of Chakwera agenda.
"I come from the southern region in particular Mwanza district where DPP is equally popular as MCP. But I can challenge you today that it is only MCP governments that have helped the people of my district to see development flourishing. Kamuzu built Mwanza hospital, Mwanza Secondary School among others and today Chakwera under MCP is constructing a very difficult road going to Thambani from Mwanza Boma, construction of several clinics, schools, bridges among others and yet under DPP era no development took place in my area," said Chitsulo.
She has since urged the people of Ntchisi to vote for Dr Lazarus Chakwera for the continued economic development.
Chitsulo also described DPP as den of mafias who are only interested in enriching themselves at the expense of poor people.
