Member of Parliament for Mwanza West constituency Joyce Chitsulo has called on all eligible voters to play their part in shaping their own future and that of country by taking part in third phase of voter registration which MEC is rolling out on November 28 to December 11, 2024.
Chitsulo was speaking at Chiwembu Community ground on Sunday, November 24 where she joined Senior Traditional Authority Nthache in urging the people to take part in the voter education exercise.
In her remarks, Chitsulo encouraged the people to register in large numbers in order to fully exercise their rights in building the future of next generation.
"Voter sensitisation and education are critical in shaping the composition of government you want to pursue the policies that will carter for the dreams and aspirations of your family and the future of the nation.
"Any Malawian aged 18 years and over with a valid national identity card is eligible to register and exercise their constitutional rights and it is my wish that parents, traditional authorities, faith leader among others will help in courting the young ones to register, " said Chitsulo who is also seeking a second term as Member of Parliament for the area.
Concurring with the MP, Senior Traditional Authority Nthache said it is vital that citizens take part in choosing leaders of their choice but only those who are faithful to them and have proved to developmental conscious like Chitsulo.
It is estimated that close to 600 people attended the meeting.
