Deputy Minister Chitsulo endorses Chakwera presidential bid; lauds government for various socioeconomic developments in the Mwanza West constituency

Member of Parliament for Mwanza West Constituency who is also Deputy Minister of Local Government Unity and Culture Joyce Chitsulo has thanked President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and his government for "taking care" the people of her constituency since he took over power from the 'dilapidated' Democratic Progressive Party-DPP in 2020.

She was speaking today in her constituency after Malawi Congress Party-MCP Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda who is also Minister of Local Government Unity and Culture conducted a development rally at Thambani Community ground.

Speaking to reporters after the rally, Chitsulo said her constituency has developed since Chakwera took over government in 2020.

"I have every reason to thank MCP government under president Dr Lazarus Chakwera for the unprecedented socioeconomic transformation that is currently happening in this constituency. Just imagine, next month, the people of Thambani will for the first time experience bituminized road from Mwanza Boma which has been a song for decades but Chakwera has come to our rescue. He will also construct a Skills Development Centre for our youth to acquire skills in various sectors on top of the clinics, school blocks, bridges among others," said Chitsulo who went on to endorse President Dr Lazarus Chakwera as  presidentail candidate in the forth coming election.

Speaking at the same rally, Secretary General Richard Chimwendo Banda launched a K10 million football and netball trophies which have been sponsored by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera.

Also speaking at the rally was MCP National Youth Director Baba Malondera who urged the youth not to engage in political violence.

Senior Traditional Authorities Govati and Nthache hailed Chakwera for appointing their 'daughter' in cabinet on top of the various socioeconomic developments taking place in the constituency.
