Member of Parliament for Mwanza West constituency, Joyce Chitsulo says to make Christmas even merrier, christians must learn to share joy of the festivities with others particularly the less- privileged and less-fortunate and offer them comfort.
She was speaking on Christmas Day when she distributed maize to 600 households in Senior Traditional Authority Govati in the constituency.
In her speech to reporters, she urged the Christian community to be guided by the true principles of the Faith which underscores the significance of charity, love, compassion and reconciliation in their celebration and this will solidify societal bonds and rally citizens around for the development of the constituency.
'My prayer is that let each one of us do our job to feed the fatherless with the little we have and offer comfort to those in need. Also we have to take time to reach out and preach coexistence and love and to remember that with help of almighty God, we can overcome any challenge and achieve the future we desire" she said.
In his remarks, Senior Traditional Authority Govati hailed the Member of Parliament for her efforts to alleviate hunger in the area.
