Chakwera pitches Youth Skill
Senior Traditional Authority Govati of Mwanza has lauded President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and Deputy Minister of Local Government Unity and Culture Joyce Chitsulo for pitching a youth skills development project which says will enhance the employability of his youth for national, regional and global opportunities but also self- empowerment.
Govati said this today when he invited the youth and other stakeholders to an Area Development Committee (ADC) to where he broke the good news.
In his remarks, Govati said that skills development project is aimed to cultivate an industry - ready workforce for it is equiped with cutting-edge technology and hands- on training across a range of trades including technology, carpentry, brick- laying, automation and mechanical engineering, tailoring among others.
"Am pleased to inform you that His Excellency the President Dr Lazarus Chakwera through his servant, Joyce Chitsulo has made a decision to have two Skills Development Centres in this district. And one will be in this constituency. You are aware that skills development is only solution in an ever- changing world as everything has gone technological in this morden world.
"It is our hope that these Innovation Hubs will be a springboard for the new businesses processes that will grow our economy and support our national development agenda as the nation while making our youth valuable on the market,' he said.
He has since requested the youth to meet tomorrow at 7am at Mankhwala CBO for further discussions.
